Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Dear respected community members,
Alhamdulillah, last Friday’s implementation of two Jumu’ah prayer sessions went very smoothly, and we thank everyone for their cooperation, and support. As we continue building on that success, MAH will again hold two Friday prayer sessions tomorrow:
First Session: 12:45 PM
Second Session: 1:45 PM
We are especially grateful to the many community members who have shared constructive feedback and relevant expertise throughout this process. Their contributions, together with the efforts of volunteers and coordination with public agencies, have played an important role in helping MAH successfully implement and refine these measures. We also appreciate the continued engagement of City agencies, HPD, and the Honolulu Fire Department, including the fire safety inspection that took place yesterday. As we continue to receive observations and feedback from these agencies based on last week’s implementation and ongoing evaluations, we will make adjustments where appropriate to further improve the experience for both worshippers and neighbors.
Based on the attendance survey responses received so far, we kindly ask those who indicated that either session works for them to attend the 1:45 PM session whenever possible. This will help distribute attendance more evenly, reduce congestion, and allow both sessions to run smoothly.
We also ask everyone to use the designated parking areas first, including the church parking areas and available masjid parking, and to avoid neighborhood street parking as much as possible. Please follow all volunteer instructions, parking directions, and posted regulations.
As Muslims, respecting our neighbors is part of our faith. Allah says:
“Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and be good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor and the distant neighbor.” (Qur’an 4:36)
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his neighbor.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Please remember that lawful and respectful parking is not only a civic responsibility but also an Islamic obligation. We ask everyone to be especially mindful not to block driveways, obstruct traffic, park in prohibited areas, or create inconvenience for our neighbors.
Attendance at each session remains subject to available capacity. Once a session reaches capacity, no additional attendees will be admitted to that session. We therefore ask everyone to follow volunteer instructions and help ensure a smooth transition between the two prayers.
Those attending the 12:45 PM session are kindly requested to exit the masjid and parking areas promptly after prayer so volunteers can prepare for the second session. Those attending the 1:45 PM session are asked not to arrive before 1:30 PM, as parking and gate access for the second session will not open until that time.
If you have not yet completed the Jumu’ah attendance survey, please do so. Your response helps us better understand attendance patterns, plan future Friday prayer services, evaluate the effectiveness of the current two-session format, and determine whether additional measures, including a reservation system, may become necessary in the future.

We appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation as we work together to protect the masjid, preserve our ability to worship, and maintain positive relationships with our neighbors.
May Allah reward you, accept your worship, and bless our community.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
Muslim Association of Hawaii
