Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmat-Allah wa Barakatuh dear brothers and sisters,
We pray that Allah SWT accepts your fasting, prayers, and all acts of worship during these blessed nights of Ramadan.
Tonight, InshaAllah, we will be observing the 27th night of Ramadan with an extended night program at the masjid. These final nights are among the most blessed of the entire year, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ encouraged us to increase our worship during them in search of Laylat al-Qadr, a night that is better than a thousand months.
We invite the community to join us tonight for a night of prayer, remembrance, reflection, and fellowship.
First Program: 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM
The evening will begin at 8:15 PM and will include a reminder (talk), followed by Isha prayer, 8 rakaat of Taraweeh, the completion of the recitation of the Qur’an (Khatm al-Quran), Shafaa and Witr prayer, and duaa.
Break: 10:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Second Program: 10:30 PM – 11:30 PM
We will resume with 12 rak‘at of Qiyam al-Layl, a short reminder/talk, followed by midnight snacks, and the program will conclude around midnight.
At midnight, there will be sisters-only Halaqa InshaAllah. All sisters are invited
Free Time / Optional Itikaf: Midnight – 3:30 AM
Brothers and sisters may either return home to rest or remain in the masjid for worship and Itikaf. The masjid will remain open, for those who wish to spend time in prayer, recitation of Quran, dhikr, Duaa, or quiet reflection.
Third Program (Qiyam al-Layl): 3:30 AM – 4:30 AM
The night program will resume at 3:30 AM with Tahajjud prayer, recitation, and duaa, followed by Witr.
Suhur Break
After the prayers, we will have approximately an hour break for a light suhur. Simple light items will be provided InshaAllah.
Fajr and Closing
We will then pray Fajr together, followed by tasbih and remembrance. Please note that Fajr Iqama will InshaAllah be at 5:45AM and not 6AM. The program will conclude with Salat Doha for those who wish to remain.
These are the nights in which the Prophet ﷺ would increase his worship, awaken his family, and devote himself fully to seeking Allah’s mercy. Even a short portion of the night spent in prayer, Qur’an, or remembrance can carry immense reward.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever stands in prayer during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and seeking reward, all of his previous sins will be forgiven.”
Last but not least, we would also like to remind our community that these blessed nights are a beautiful opportunity to support the House of Allah. If you have not yet made your contribution to the masjid’s annual fundraising, or if you are able to increase your support, we encourage you to bring your donation with you tonight. Charity given during these nights carries multiplied reward, and if it coincides with Laylat al-Qadr, it is as if that charity continues to give reward for more than a thousand months. Supporting the masjid ensures that it continues to serve our community as a place of prayer, learning, and remembrance of Allah for generations to come. May Allah accept your generosity and place it heavily on your scale of good deeds.
We ask Allah to allow us to witness Laylat al-Qadr, to accept our prayers and fasting, and to fill our hearts with faith and tranquility.
We look forward to spending this blessed night together as a community.
Jazakum Allah Kheir
